That's one way of looking at it, personally when I went through the options I thought it more from end user point of view (ie. what client is most comfortable to use on ADC hubs, works and looks nice etc.).
Above pretty much eliminated Xmpl for me, it's nice from developer point of view but not mature enough for users. Really for me it was DC++ vs ApexDC++ because even though I don't like smartwin gui overall (neither as developer nor as a user, wtl controls just look cleaner/familiar imo.) some of the new ideas in the smartwin series really have hit the spot .
