sending a hidden INF

hi,
can one send an utilitarian INF that doesn't actually identify a user nor a bot people could chat with? it could for example be used to send messages from random nicks that are not present in the user list.
DC++ accepts and handles "HI1" for hidden users, and i am actually already using it in <https://launchpad.net/adchpp-ptokax> for scripts that want to send messages from non-existent users, but i just noticed that it isn't actually documented in the protocol.
has it been removed on purpose? is there a replacement method (like using the "extended away" flag)?
