What of a hub point of view?

A hub may be interested in sending certain messages to every client like chat messages or search strings.

but it just doesn't work.

Such a feature that only works on very special ISPs or on LAN is useless.

Why?

For now, ISPs use multicast internally for things like video streaming.

The one worrying on this is the hub owner as he must choose an ISP allowing multicast traffic to place his router, but from the client POW multicast is usually allowed amongst other things because its used for multimedia streaming.

Only for live streaming. Multicast just Does Not Work for non-synchronus end points.
